I don’t know of anyone that regularly carries around a digital camera, even for special events. Not that they’re a lost cause but because smartphones are just easier. Plus, with the ability to edit and share all from one device, its one feature that just about everyone uses on a regular basis. If you haven’t downloaded any new photo apps recently, you’re definitely missing out—they bring out the best in your phone’s photo potential. Check out these 4 creative and crafty editing apps, and wow your friends with your new found talent.
Aviary
For all of your basic editing needs and then some, this app hits the mark. Obviously there are other editing apps out there, but Aviary wins my vote for being the easiest to use while simultaneously offering intricate editing capabilities. Its no-fuss design makes it a breeze to crop, enhance, and add filters. It also goes a step further with frames, stickers, and a meme generator. My favorite part: upload your perfected photos directly to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, or send for printing at your local Walgreens.
If you’ve been using PicStitch, try:
Pic Collage
Collages are great for obvious reasons; they capture multiple moments in one without having to upload an entire album of images. Pic Collage has a plethora of layouts to choose from in addition to different backgrounds and patterns. Not only can you import photos from your album but also directly from Facebook and Instagram. The simple touch gestures make it easy to learn and use, I didn’t spend half of my time figuring out where to go next. PLUS it has a built in photo editor—powered by the above reviewed, Aviary. Win-win!
If you’ve been using A Beautiful Mess, try:
Rhonna Designs
Bloggers will be over the moon for this one! I can’t say enough about this ultra chic creative/crafty editing app that’s actually so much more. I’ve become obsessed with creating artsy compilations that make my mediocre photos look like charming greeting cards. You can let your creativity soar by adding exclusive designs, text, frames, and masks to photos. The whimsical fonts, quotes, and designs are awe-inspiring and makes the Rhonna Designs app completely worth its small $1.99 price.
Light Bomber
I couldn’t pass on including Light Bomber by MRI Lightpainting, especially this time of year. If you’ve ever seen or tried to “write” with a sparkler, you’ll know exactly what this app can do. It uses a long exposure to capture light as it travels, creating a dragging effect that makes for some awesome photo art. This probably won’t be a photo tool you’ll use for everyday use, but worth having in your collection.
